Hi everyone, it’s been a little while since I last updated my blog post. I’m still not stable enough to do new things in my life, especially blogging, as it’s new for me. However, it’s been a long-time dream, and I’m trying my best to start and continue blogging. Again, I still have a few “excuses” for myself that I want to remove in my path to be successful.

The first excuse, as you may already know, is that I’m working the day shift and assigned as an open deck supervisor. Now, just giving you an update, I’ve been moved as a night supervisor for now.

As you noticed, since I was on the night shift, my blog posts stopped for a while, around two weeks taking into account that I needed to adjust my body clock. Then again, as I said, this is one of my excuses which I want to totally remove in my path to be successful.
The second excuse is during my off-duty for the last few weeks, the first day during off-duty, I tried to write my blog post. However, I fell asleep on the chair for maybe 20 minutes while typing, and I only noticed when I woke up, my fingers were still on the keyboard and I had typed thousands of gibberish words on the screen.

My blog was not finished that day because I needed to go to bed as I was tired and needed to adjust my body clock. I was exhausted because every night, I calculated my steps, I think I made about 12k to 15k steps, especially at nights in transition towards the day.

There were lots of calls to attend, I was alone at night as a supervisor, so for every call, I myself needed to attend to them, especially for guests with concerns.

That’s why for two weeks, I did not update my blog post for the reason that I needed to adjust everything at night. Now that my body is used to this routine, I will start over again. During my off-duty times, I try typing for my blog.

My eyes can rest from fatigue, and unlike before, where I would automatically close my eyes while facing the computer, now I consciously close them to rest. Since, as I mentioned, last time I forced myself awake, I just fell asleep in no time.

Regarding my exercise routine, it was also affected, and I couldn’t follow through. But let me give you an update on the outcome of my regular exercise time. For me, there’s been some improvement, even though it’s irregular.

Perhaps it’s also due to my discipline in eating. After a while, I continued with my exercise because I’ve found the right timing for it. I do it in the evening before I go to work. I wake up at 6 PM to go to the gym for one hour, then I start my duty at 9 PM.

Before, I tried after work, but the result wasn’t good because I was already tired, so my exhaustion doubled. That’s why I chose to sleep first and wake up at 6 PM for my regular exercise routine, and it has been beneficial for me

I also included my before and after pictures here for you to see.

I was trying my best to have a very good result within two months work out however; my plan doesn’t work 100 percent, but at least with in almost 1 and a half days I can see the outcome of my hard work for my exercise and a little result in my body. My journey for health will be continuing until I will get the better result as much as I can. Also, all the result with in my health journey will be documented to share my experience.

As for my diet, even though my diabetes situation has improved, I still can’t go back to my old habit of wanting to eat everything I want to eat. That’s why every time I eat or see food, these thoughts always come to my mind:

1. Can I eat this?
2. If I eat this, what will be the result on my body?
3. Is this food suitable for someone with diabetes?
4. What will be the consequence if I eat this?
5. Does this contribute to my ultimate healing?
And there’s a lot more. To make it short, I’ve become selective with what I eat.

I also discovered that corn is also high in carbohydrates.

And because of my condition, I’ve learned to study the benefits of food for our bodies, based on my experience. So, I’ll scrutinize every food I eat and share it with you to give you an idea.

Just like my ignorance in the past, when I had a disease, I avoided eating rice, which is the number one food we eat from where I come from because it’s high in carbohydrates.

Instead, I replaced it with potatoes, which still raised my blood sugar levels, which in turn worsened my skin wounds, and I couldn’t understand what was happening to my skin, why wasn’t it healing. That’s when I started to investigate what the real reason was.

This was my biggest mistake in changing my diet because I didn’t consult a doctor for it. Only after a lot of time had passed, one day, I realized I needed to consult a doctor to completely heal my illness. Afterwards, I woke up to the truth and accepted that I had an illness, unlike before.

A little segment about potatoes:
Potatoes are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, promoting immune, heart, and gut health when prepared healthily. But it also seems like potatoes can really shake up blood sugar levels, especially for people with conditions like diabetes.

The carbs in potatoes can lead to those spikes in blood sugar. There are different types of potatoes and cooking methods for them that could play into raising blood sugar levels. Plus, there’s some risks linked to eating a lot of potatoes, like upping the chance of developing type 2 diabetes and other health issues.

A little segment about corn:
Corn is packed with health benefits. Its fiber aids digestion and weight management, while vitamins like C and B support immunity and metabolism. Minerals such as potassium promote heart health, and antioxidants like lutein benefit eye health, reducing the risk of age-related macular degeneration.

Including corn in your diet adds essential nutrients for overall well-being and a balanced diet. But although it’s lower, corn is also starchy, and  may spike blood sugar levels when consuming a lot of it.

Some healthier alternatives are carrots, parsnips, cauliflower, pumpkin, squash and some other non-starchy vegetables. I’m not saying you shouldn’t eat the foods I mentioned. It’s just an example of what I experienced that I want to share with you about eating and having diabetes.

The keypoint is the importance of moderation and consulting with professionals when it comes to your health. For my situation, I ask the question, why do I need to eat foods that will give me unfavorable results?

That’s all I can share with you based on my actual experience. Thank you for reading up to this part, if you have any comments or suggestions feel free to leave them, I want to know what you guys think. Again, thanks!

Thank you ones again
